I am a Christian photographer and videographer. I love to capture frames, whether it be one per second or twenty-four.
I love photography because it is a great way to freeze one moment in history, but I love videography because it is a great way to relive a series of moments in time.
Emily Dickinson once wrote:
If I can stop one Heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain,
If I can ease one Life of Aching,
Or cool one Pain
Or help one fainting Robin,
Unto his Nest again,
I shall not live in Vain.
This is how I try to live. I feel like if I can affect even one person for God's kingdom, or just be there for someone who needs someone to talk to, my life will not be in vain.
Furthermore, the book of James in the Bible says in verses 19-20 of chapter 5: "Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." This is my mission in the arts. If I can turn one life God-ward, it will all be worth it.
Two of my favorite of God's creations are light and color - with them so much art is possible.
I love watching good movies. It's like studying for me, because I'm a filmmaker. I love editing, I love everything that has to do with Photoshop, photo and video production, graphic design, web design, etc.
I love fonts. I love jeans. I love stripes...
